This timeline has five zones:

The top band, with dark red text, contains events relating to Granville Bantock’s personal life.
The second band, with dark blue text, has details of events relating to Bantock’s professional life.
The third band, with dark green text, places the composition of Bantock’s major works. (Please note that, because it is not possible to date compositions precisely, the placement of these labels is year-, rather than day-, specific.)

The fourth band, with gold text, contains events of historical, social or political interest, including the births and deaths of prominent public figures: artists, writers, politicians, scientists, musicians, and so on.

The lowest band provides an overview of the contents of the rest of the timeline.

To view the timeline, use your computer mouse to position the cursor on a zone and, holding down the left mouse-button, drag the mouse to the left or right in order to scroll through the dates. To view more details about an event, click on the event’s label: a pop-up box will appear which may be closed by clicking on the button at its top right.
